What changes the price
- The visit itself: a diagnostic fee covers getting a technician to your house and finding the fault. Ask whether it is credited toward the repair.
- The part: a capacitor is a small part and a quick job; a blower motor, a coil or a compressor is not. The quote should name the part and the labor.
- Refrigerant: if the system is low, the cost depends on the refrigerant type (older R-410A versus newer systems) and finding the leak.
- Timing: after-hours or weekend visits often cost more anywhere. Ask before you book.
- The house: raised homes, attic air handlers and long duct runs in older New Orleans houses can add time.
Questions that get you a straight answer
- What is the visit or diagnostic fee, and does it apply to the repair?
- What did you find, and what exactly is included in the repair price?
- Is this a fix that will last the season, or should we talk about replacing?
- Is there a warranty on the part and the labor?
How REP HVAC does it
- Renic tells you the visit fee on the phone before scheduling. After the diagnosis, you get the repair price before any work starts. No work is booked until you say yes.
- Family-run since 2012, EPA Universal certified, insured $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate. Based in New Orleans, serving Orleans and Jefferson parishes and Southeast Louisiana.
